Downtown Reno’s Riverwalk District is hosting its 10th annual Halloween Hollow on October 27, and you know West Street Market is in! This family-friendly event has it all – free entertainment, free trick-or-treating for the kids, costume contests, craft cocktails, and more. Here at West Street, we’re a little extra about Halloween and this event. So we kick things up with our very own Monster Jam.
The Monster Jam
Entertainment and trick-or-treating will be widespread in the Riverwalk District on October 27, but plan to start and end the festivities at West Street. Our spooktacular Monster Jam is one of those wild and crazy events for family fun. Come for the pumpkin carving and painting, the kids’ and adults’ costume contests, the DJ in the courtyard, the portable walls for graffiti art – with a graffiti artist on hand to show us how it’s done – and the #wyldmarket pop-up show, complete with local artists and handcrafted goodies.
We’ll have craft cocktails from Blind Dog Tavern, and you know our vendors will be running specials to keep everyone full of good food and energy to get through this eventful night. It’s going to be one of those memorable community gatherings that are so popular around here.
Trick or treating runs from 5 to 7 pm, with costumed kiddos getting a “treasure map” that will lead them to all the sweet treats at participating merchants in the district. Along the way, ghost and ghouls will keep things fun, along with live music and entertainment in the City of Reno plaza.
After the kids collect their haul, head back to West Street Market for our kids’ costume contest at 6:30. At 8:30, adults will get their turn. And in between, the family will be all set to tour the pop-up shop, grab some dinner, get their dance on, paint and carve some pumpkins, get their graffiti on – you know, all the good stuff.
So mark your calendars now – you have big plans on October 27!
